The first day of life includes first poops, peeing, and sneezing. I’ve counted three sneezes so far. We changed the first diaper of my life. There is also the first meal, which is turning out to be a bit of a challenge, but then nobody said this would be easy. Margo seems to understand the physical motions of nursing, but putting all the pieces together of when and how to latch on to her mother seems a little hard. Call it her first bout with lack of coordination; she’ll grow into it.
Margo seems to be a good sleeper, especially when she’s being held. Her head has also come back into shape after last night’s excitement.
We’ve already had visits from Jen and Caroline. Jim, Nancy and Nora are here now. We’ve received lots of wonderful comments from friends all day.
